Gone Girl | Book Review

While at school I did not have much time for reading, but all of that changed now that I am finally done! I am a fan of thrillers and mysteries, and my pick was definitely both of those things. Not to mention it was very interesting and kept me turning the pages non-stop until I was finally done reading it.

I give this book a 4/5 stars, because it was captivating and the outcome of the book was unexpected. Gone Girl comes up with some seriously shocking revelations all throughout and there is some crude language, but I think it makes this book unique in it's own way. Both Alex and I have read this book and we were both very pleased and interested the entire time, it only took us a few days to finish it because we could not wait any longer to find out what was going to happen next.

I think those kinds of books are the best, where you have to know what happens next and you can never predict what the author had cooked up for you!

Do you have any recommendations? What are you reading lately?

  1. I actually really enjoyed this book too! I think you should check out The Doll's House by Tania Carver. It's equally suspenseful. :)

  5. I've been thinking about reading this one before the movie comes out! If you haven't read it already, The fault in our stars is probably my most favorite recent read- other than that I have only read a bunch of marketing and entreprenurial stuff!

  6. I read this quite a few months ago and really enjoyed it! Right now I'm reading The Highly Sensitive Child - so not a general reading book, and then Children of the Most High by Anna Scanlon which I am really looking forward to.

  7. I have this book on my Kindle and started reading it a few weeks ago but haven't finished. I'm currently reading "If I can't have you" by Gregg Olsen. It's a book about the Susan Powell disappearance and what she really went through in that marriage. :( She is familiar around these parts because of what happened to her sons after her disappearance. I swear, I will never be the same after hearing their story. I definitely recommend this book, I just started on Sunday and I'm halfway finished (which is good for me lol).

  9. Sounds like a good book. I read a lot of books of kindle funny enough mine are all shape shifter or vampire romance books (though not a twilight fun but love true blood) and other romance novels. I will read any thriller so long as there is romance somewhere somehow lol x

  18. Haha a little romance is always good. I am a fan of it as well, especially if it is crafted into a nail biting thriller!

  21. I've seen that they are making a movie based on Gone Girl, but I pictured all of the characters so differently from the actors who will play them. I've read The Fault In Our Stars as well!

  31. After hearing so many people say they loved it, I borrowed it from the library when it became available. I struggled with this one ... I had to renew it (took a month total) in order to finish it and I'm not a slow reader. I definitely didn't see that ending coming ...

  32. I know how that is, some books just don't do it for you. I was also shocked at the ending, like what just happened!?
